Job summary

Wordsmith is building a legal operations platform for in-house teams and is growing rapidly. You will own R&D hiring from intake to signed offers, partnering with engineering and product leaders to define levels and processes.

You will source and hire Product Engineers, Applied AI/LLM Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers and Designers. You will run rigorous technical loops, ensure a fast, fair process, and close candidates against competitive offers, with a focus on high-quality hires

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting, with at least 3 hires in product-led tech
• Comfortable discussing tech stacks, levels and system design with engineers
• Track record with measurable hiring outcomes and performance
• Most recent hires sourced by you, not inbound
• Fluency with Ashby or a similar ATS and leveraging AI in your workflow

Responsibilities

• Deliver bar-raising R&D hires each quarter
• Own a fair, fast recruiting process optimized for highest quality hires
• Source engineers directly from GitHub, research communities, alumni networks
• Run fast technical loops: take-homes, calibrated interviewers, 24h debriefs
• Own candidate journey from first message to start date, negotiating with cash, equity and scope
• Report on funnel weekly and iterate based on data
