Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a Cleared Senior/Principal RD Systems Engineer in Surety Engineering, onsite, to lead R&D projects across the product lifecycle. You will develop, implement, and maintain strategies for qualification and delivery of high-consequence products, with emphasis on traceability, V&V, risk analysis, and defect prevention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent combination.
• Active DOE Q security Clearance or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical R&D contributions throughout the product realization lifecycle, including requirements engineering and traceability, V&V, risk analysis, and essential documentation.
• Develop requirements traceability reports, verification/validation plans, qualification plans, and essential engineering authorizations.
• Communicate and team effectively across multiple roles and technology areas, including staff, team leads, and management.
• Engage in projects spanning all phases of the lifecycle from conceptual design to production, maintenance, and retirement.
• Collaborate on projects that include nuclear and non-nuclear components and systems, and some capability development.
• Apply risk-based approaches to evaluate product qualification difficulty and prevent defects.
• Lead through influence across multiple technologies to align people, products and activities.
