Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, seeks a highly skilled R&D S&E Systems Engineer to lead cross-functional efforts on the D5LE2 Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile compatibility study for the W76-1. You will coordinate interdisciplinary teams, apply rigorous analyses, and partner with Navy, NNSA, and DOE to ensure successful integration of weapon systems.

The role requires onsite work in Albuquerque and occasional travel to Livermore, NM; Amarillo, TX; DC; and KCNSC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 5 years experience or equivalent.
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent with ability to undergo polygraph.
• Strong systems engineering and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites, including national labs and DoD locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary teams to solve high-visibility technical challenges.
• Initiate, coordinate, and lead detailed technical studies to deepen understanding of system performance.
• Apply systems engineering principles and trade studies to evaluate alternatives.
• Collaborate with NSE partners including NNSA, DoD, LLNL, and KCNSC on design, testing strategies, and requirements.
