Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico seeks a Cleared Member/Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer to join the Development Hardware Team (DHT) onsite. You will interface with PRTs, procure development hardware, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to reduce schedule risk.

The role requires a B.S. in a relevant field, DOE Q clearance, and strong CAD/GD&T skills. Onsite work is required with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent.
Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent to start.
Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (desirable).
Experience with product realization in NNSA complex.

Responsibilities

Interface with PRTs to negotiate product definition, schedule and quality.
Review product definitions for completeness before fabrication.
Collaborate with PRTs, Weapon System Engineers to resolve hardware issues.
Support rapid acquisition and delivery of hardware and components.
Communicate design status, risks and issues.
Work onsite due to job nature.
