Job summary

Danfoss in Maumee, OH seeks a Senior Engineer, R&D QDC to lead and execute moderately complex R&D activities for Quick Disconnect Coupling technologies used in Data Center and Fluid Conveyance applications. You will drive tech work packages from concept through validation and provide recommendations for new product development and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• Experience in R&D, product development, testing, prototyping.
• Experience with fluid conveyance, thermal management, couplings, connectors or pressure-boundary components.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects with minimal supervision.
• DFSS and Lean methodologies, engineering documentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D work packages from concept evaluation through validation.
• Plan test plans, prototype requirements, schedules, and investigations.
• Develop experiments, analyze results, document findings, and recommend next steps.
• Support prototype builds, material trials, sealing evaluations, and testing.
• Act as technical lead on medium-sized R&D projects and multiple tech investigations.
• Create and maintain risk assessments, design notes, and test reports.
• Collaborate with R&D, labs, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers on R&D methods and problem-solving.
• Participate in design reviews and external collaborations.
