Job summary

D-Wave Quantum is seeking a highly motivated Senior Service Engineer to build, scale, and support our quantum computing systems and Leap cloud service from New Haven, CT. You will own complex electromechanical maintenance across builds, installations, and field operations, and lead troubleshooting with R&D collaboration.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or Physics and 5+ years in multidisciplinary systems, with travel to customer sites and occasional international travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting complex multidisciplinary electromechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead system builds, installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Serve as senior technical escalation point for cryogenic and electromechanical systems.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering and R&D to influence design improvements.
• Define, refine, and standardize service procedures and incident response processes.
• Contribute to and review technical documentation for service teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and partners as the primary technical interface.
• Mentor junior engineers and strengthen team capability.
• Support production systems via on-call rotation and incident response.
• Identify operational gaps and drive tool/process improvements.
