Job summary

Quantum Computing Inc. in Hoboken, NJ, seeks a Software Engineer with deep expertise in mathematical optimization and quantum algorithm development. You will architect the core software engine for our photonic quantum processors, blending advanced optimization with optical hardware feedback.

You will design a high-performance C++ runtime and HAL, optimize critical paths, and collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to map complex problems onto quantum-enabled hardware.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience focused on systems or HPC.
• Strong C++ and Python proficiency.
• Experience with quantum algorithms, quantum information, or quantum optics.
• Background in Convex Optimization, QP, MILP, or Gradient-Free Methods.
• Experience with Numerical Analysis and high-performance math libraries.
• Familiarity with protocols (UART, SPI, gRPC, REST) and software integration.
• Strong performance tuning, memory management, and fault-tolerant design.
• Familiarity with Linux system programming and CMake build tools.
• Experience in cross-functional teams with hardware, physics, and software.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance C++ runtime and HAL for photonic optimization.
• Profile and optimize critical paths to minimize latency and memory bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with FPGA, Electrical, and Firmware engineers on interfaces.
• Develop algorithmic enhancements for quantum feedback to improve solutions.
• Write efficient, thread-safe code for concurrent hardware control and processing.
• Map optimization and ML problems to photonic quantum processors with post-processing.
• Build layers to orchestrate large-scale optimization across hardware resources.
• Contribute to quantum algorithms on the company roadmap.
