Job summary

Quantinuum in Broomfield, CO seeks an Advanced Software Engineer to design and support software interfacing with quantum lab equipment. You will work with physicists and hardware engineers to optimize workflows and create internal tools and dashboards for real-time lab visibility.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in software within research or lab settings, with Python/C++ experience and hardware interfaces. Expect on-site work and up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and minimum 4+ years in software in lab/research settings.
• Minimum 2+ years with Python, C++, or similar OO language.
• Minimum 1+ years interfacing software with hardware via device interfaces and control protocols.
• U.S. Person status required by contract; certain nationalities restricted.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software automating lab processes and instrument interactions.
• Collaborate with physicists and hardware engineers on lab workflows.
• Develop dashboards to visualize equipment status and system health.
• Improve observability and provide clear error reporting for users.
• Write clean, testable code in a fast-paced R&D environment.
• Deploy and support software lifecycle updates and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows and automated testing.
• Help define software development practices like version control and code reviews.
• Travel up to 10% may be required.
