Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a senior software engineer to develop and optimize GPU-accelerated quantum simulation software, focusing on QEC workloads at scale. You will work with NVIDIA Research, Developer Technology, and Product teams to translate research into robust, reusable primitives.

The role requires strong C++/Python, deep QEC knowledge, and 8+ years in research or software development. A PhD or MS is preferred, and equity/benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

  • Excellent modern C++ and Python programming skills including debugging, functional testing, and performance testing.
  • Proven track record converting mathematical or research-level algorithms into robust, reusable software primitives.
  • Expert understanding of QEC and stabilizer formalism, including Pauli-frame propagation and mid-circuit measurement.
  • Strong understanding of noise models and representations of non-Pauli noise.
  • Familiarity with Stim, Qiskit Aer, PennyLane, Cirq, cuQuantum SDK, CUDA-Q or similar frameworks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across research, enginering, and product teams.
  • PhD or MS in CS, Applied Math, Physics, EE, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant research or software-development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative algorithms to accelerate QEC workload simulations at scale.
  • Research and optimize GPU-accelerated algorithms across hardware generations.
  • Collaborate with NVIDIA Research, Developer Technology, and Product Management teams.
  • Interact with external partners and researchers to understand use cases.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other specialists.
