Job summary

PPM Recruitment seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor for its Northampton operation, specialising in drylining and interiors. You will manage the commercial delivery from tender through to final accounts, ensuring cost control and profitability while liaising with Directors and clients.

You will oversee procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts on multiple projects, with a focus on achieving strong commercial outcomes and maintaining robust cost reporting across the business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction.
• Experience working within drylining, plastering, suspended ceilings, partitions or interior fit-out.
• Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.

The Opportunity

PPM Recruitment is working with a growing specialist contractor within the drylining and interiors sector to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for its Northampton-based operation. With an established client base and ambitious plans for continued expansion, the business is looking for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the commercial management of projects, working closely with the Directors to maximise profitability and support future growth.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the commercial aspects of drylining and interiors projects from initial tender and procurement through to valuations, cost control and final account settlement. Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the commercial delivery of drylining and interiors projects from start to completion.

• Managing variations, change control and final accounts.

The Person

The company is seeking a commercially focused Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong construction industry experience, ideally gained within a specialist drylining and interiors contractor.

You will ideally possess:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction.
• Experience working within drylining, plastering, suspended ceilings, partitions or interior fit-out.
• Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
• Excellent commercial awareness, with a focus on cost control and profitability.
• Strong negotiation and client relationship management skills.
• The confidence to liaise directly with Directors, clients and the wider supply chain.
