Job summary

London Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team in East London. You will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account.

The role requires strong main contracting background, experience managing subcontract packages, and excellent communication with clients and subcontractors. Our client offers a competitive salary (£60,000-£70,000) plus package and clear career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Main contracting experience is essential.
• Strong experience managing subcontract packages.
• Knowledge of procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong commercial and contractual understanding.
• Experience across residential, refurbishment, commercial, education or healthcare projects.
• Confident dealing with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline; JCT experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial performance of projects
• Procurement and tendering of subcontract packages
• Managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
• Preparing and agreeing variations
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• CVRs and monthly commercial reporting
• Managing project budgets and cost control
• Preparing and agreeing final accounts
• Working closely with site and project management teams
• Liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
