Job summary

Commence is a remote-position employer seeking a Senior Quantitative Researcher to implement and evaluate CMS/CMMI alternative payment models. You will translate policy goals into operational methods, work with data science and engineering teams, and lead reports for federal clients.

The role requires hands-on experience with CMS/CMMI APMs, strong analytical skills, and the ability to mentor junior researchers while coordinating across multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in economics, health services research, health policy, public health, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 8+ years.
• Hands-on CMS/CMMI APM implementation/evaluation experience preferred.
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid data (e.g., CCW, IDR, VRDC) preferred.
• Strong writing for federal audiences; proposal-writing experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate model design and policy goals into operational methodologies using Medicare/Medicaid data and surveys.
• Design and implement value-based care methodologies, attribution, and quality measures.
• Design evaluations using quasi-experimental methods to estimate impact on spending and quality.
• Lead methodology documents and evaluation reports for CMMI model teams.
