Job summary

Versant is seeking a Senior Quantitative Equity Research Analyst in New Jersey to lead the quantitative research for the High Quality Stocks strategy. You will collaborate with senior analysts to translate fundamental ideas into systematic signals and robust ranking models, while guiding empirical validation and performance monitoring.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of quantitative equity research experience.
• Strong Python skills and experience with point-in-time data.
• Experience researching long-only or long-biased equity strategies.
• End‑to‑end ownership of research from hypothesis to performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the quantitative research agenda behind High Quality Stocks.
• Improve and refine quality and valuation frameworks for long-term equity investments.
• Partner with senior equity analysts to translate concepts into systematic signals and models.
• Design back tests with controls for look‑ahead bias, survivorship bias, overfitting, and regime dependence.
• Develop machine-learning models to improve strategy performance and uncover new factors.
• Evaluate factor performance across sectors, company sizes, and market environments.
• Code research prototypes and validate data with AI/ML engineers to build scalable systems.
