Job summary

Google in Seattle is hiring a Senior Quantitative UX Researcher to translate system telemetry into actionable user insights. You will work with Engineering and Product Management to measure developer workflows at scale and drive product excellence across Alphabet’s AI infrastructure.

This role blends behavioral research design, statistics, and programming, offering mentorship opportunities and cross‑team partnerships with AI data and R2P initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in product research in an applied research setting.
• Experience in quantitative research, logs analysis, measurement and attribution, data analysis, and metrics analysis.
• Experience researching AI/ML products, Developer APIs, or technical infrastructure.
• Experience in programming languages used for data manipulation and computational statistics (e.g., Python).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement agent‑assisted pipelines to parse, audit, and analyze massive‑scale system logs to accelerate insight generation.
• Define, instrument, and track system KPIs and backend performance metrics aligned with Critical User Journeys.
• Develop scripts or agentic wrappers to parse complex logs into digestible, statistically validated patterns.
• Lead the design and analysis of complex experiments, multivariate testing, and rollout strategies.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers and ML researchers to ensure pipelines are instrumented for downstream analysis.
