Fusion Recruiters is supporting a global manufacturer in its search for a Senior Quality Manager focused on Design Assurance. This role sits upstream in new-product development, partnering with engineering to identify design risks and ensure readiness for manufacturing launches.

The candidate will lead DFMEA efforts, integrate quality into product development, and drive design improvements based on field data and testing results.

This position will work upstream in new-product development, partnering with engineering to identify design risks, improve product reliability and ensure new products are ready for successful manufacturing launch.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Lead or facilitate DFMEA and design-risk activities
• Integrate quality and reliability into new-product development
• Support product verification, validation and reliability testing
• Connect design requirements to PFMEA, control plans and launch readiness
• Lead structured problem solving using 8D, RCCA or Six Sigma
• Translate warranty and field-performance information into design improvements
• Influence engineering, testing, manufacturing and other cross-functional teams

We are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years of relevant quality, reliability, design or product-development experience
• Hands-on DFMEA experience
• New-product development and manufacturing-launch exposure
• Strong design-risk, verification or validation fundamentals
• Technical credibility combined with excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Experience in heavy equipment, automotive, aerospace, defense, commercial vehicles or another complex-product environment is valuable.

Candidates from adjacent regulated industries will also be considered when they can demonstrate transferable design-assurance experience.
