Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a senior quality leader to own the ISO 9001 quality management system, drive preventive quality across manufacturing, and ensure compliance with ISO, AWS, ASME, and government requirements. You will partner with Operations and Engineering to eliminate defects, improve process capability, and deliver measurable gains in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or related field; equivalent combination may be considered.
• 7+ years of progressive quality experience in a complex manufacturing environment, including 3+ years leading a quality team.
• Experience in fabricated metal products, pressure vessels, welding, heavy equipment, transportation equipment, aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated environments.
• Demonstrated experience owning or administering an ISO 9001 quality management system and leading internal, certification, surveillance, and customer audits; AWS and ASME code experience required.
• Preferred: ASQ CQE, CMQOE, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, AWS Certified Welding Inspector, or similar certifications, with military/government contract exposure

Responsibilities

• Maintain ISO 9001 QMS, including audits, management reviews, and document control.
• Serve as senior quality leader and primary contact for customers, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
• Establish shop-floor process controls, inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and reaction plans across fabrication to final testing.
• Lead structured problem solving (8D, A3, 5 Why) and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to reduce defects, rework, and cost of quality while improving first-pass yield and on-time delivery.
• Manage quality metrics and provide regular daily/weekly/monthly reporting.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, AWS, ASME, and government quality requirements and traceability across material and welds.
• Lead internal, customer, and regulatory audits; ensure corrective actions are timely and effective.
