Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a Senior Quality Inspector to oversee complex inspection and verification activities across all project phases, ensuring compliance with contract documents, codes, and regulatory standards. The role provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior quality personnel while serving as a liaison between field operations, engineering, and quality management.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of quality inspection experience in construction or fabrication.
• Deep knowledge of AWS, AISC, ASME, API, ASTM, ACI, ICC, ISO.
• Strong written and verbal communication and attention to detail.
• Experience with QA/QC processes, welding inspections, and structural systems.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering or construction management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits and assessments to ensure effectiveness of quality processes.
• Coordinate and supervise third-party testing and inspection services.
• Interface with clients, regulators, and internal teams during inspections and audits.
• Lead advanced inspections of welds, structures, and mechanical systems per ITPs and standards.
• Manage project quality records: inspection reports, NCRs, CARs, and test data.
• Mentor Quality Inspector I and II personnel; provide guidance and feedback.
• Oversee QCPs, ITPs, and project-specific inspection procedures.
• Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Review drawings and project documents for quality requirements.
• Support quality metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
