Job summary

Giga Energy is hiring a Quality Manager to own the full quality value chain for supplier locations in Mexico and oversee a growing quality team at the Long Beach base. You will develop the QMS, lead supplier qualification, audits, and ensure UL/NEMA/NEMA compliance across modules and switchgear.

This role sits onsite in Long Beach, CA and requires cross-border coordination with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of quality engineering or quality management in electrical, power, or industrial manufacturing.
• Experience with UL 891/67 or equivalent standards for LV switchgear/panelboards.
• Experience managing supplier quality in an international contract manufacturing environment (audits, CAPA, FAI).
• ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Experience implementing ISO 9001 in early-stage environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001.
• Lead internal and external audits and support ISO certification efforts.
• Interface with UL Compliance Officers and third-party agencies.
• Manage supplier qualification, AVA, SQAs, and SPCA documentation.
• Drive 8D, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Lead root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, and 5-Why techniques.
• Collaborate with manufacturing for Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to reduce defects and waste.
• Maintain KPIs: FPY, scrap rate, warranty claims, and cost of quality.
