Job summary

Giga Energy in Long Beach, CA seeks a Quality Engineer to own QA for AI pod components including chillers, e-houses, and switchgear. You will perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections, drive supplier quality, and prevent defects before ships.

The role emphasizes hands‑on quality, audits, and cross‑functional collaboration with manufacturing and suppliers in China, Mexico, India, and the US. ASQ CQE or Six Sigma is preferred, with ISO 9001 quality systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3+ years in quality engineering in electrical, power, cooling, or industrial manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of UL 891/67 or equivalent LV standards.
• Experience with supplier quality processes in an international CM environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute IQC sampling and incoming inspection for AI pod components.
• Lead 8D, Fishbone, and 5-Why for non‑conformances.
• Support audits and ensure UL/NEC/NEMA compliance.
• Maintain PPAP‑equivalent documentation and CoC for AI pods.
• Collaborate with cross‑border teams (China, Mexico, India, US).
• Track KPIs: FPY, scrap, warranty, NCRs and SCARs.
