Job summary

Raytheon Vision Systems in Goleta, CA seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to implement quality engineering across proposals and production within the Focal Planes Operations group. Onsite role requiring active DoD-level security clearance.

The candidate will lead cross-functional teams, ensure design to production transition, and drive 8D and Six Sigma improvements while maintaining program metrics and supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in STEM and five years of engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years in Quality, Engineering or Operations with related process exposure.
• Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems.
• Familiarity with Industry and Government Quality Standards.
• Experience with RCCA methodologies and problem-solving tools.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop or tailor quality plans to meet customer and internal requirements.
• Act as a member of an IPT to drive quality engineering activities.
• Identify and manage risks across pursuit and program phases.
• Engage in design, test requirements, verification, and production transfer.
• Lead cross-functional teams in 8D, Lean, and Six Sigma improvement.
• Oversee Internal First Article Inspections (FAIs) and approvals.
• Use predictive metrics to guide program performance and decisions.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
