Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Inc. in Germantown, MD is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team and help drive program quality across multiple projects.

You will lead quality system processes, develop plans, mentor engineers, perform internal audits, and interface with customers to resolve issues, while ensuring compliance with ISO/AS9100 and military specifications. This role requires a strong background in Six Sigma and supplier quality, plus the ability to navigate complex defense programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• ASQ certification or Black Belt preferred
• Proficient with ISO or AS9100 standards, Six Sigma tools, statistics

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality system processes for programs and projects.
• Lead quality plans translating customer requirements into actions.
• Coordinate with engineers, technicians and inspectors.
• Drive process and product improvement initiatives across functions.
• Perform analyses of program requirements and plan quality activities.
• Review engineering and contractor documentation for quality requirements.
• Lead internal audits and corrective actions.
• Provide SPC initiatives and supplier quality support.
• Interface with customers and management to resolve quality issues.
• Mentor junior quality engineers and report progress.
