Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Germantown, MD is seeking a Senior Radar Engineer with algorithm experience to define radar system architectures, develop processing algorithms, and decompose system requirements. The role involves collaboration with internal/external customers and support for multiple radar programs.

The position demands 5+ years in engineering, knowledge of radar tech, and an active or able-to-obtain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
DoD Secret level clearance or ability to obtain a clearance
Knowledge of radar technology. Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems
Experience in leading the development of systems engineering artifacts such as System/Subsystem Requirements Documents (SRD), Architecture Diagrams, Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), and Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP)
Ability to interact with customers to define requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness
Experience working with MATLAB, DOORS, Cameo System Modeler

Electronic Protection Methods
Phased Array and Digital Beamforming Technology
Radar Search, Track and Discrimination Design; Statistical and Numerical Analysis of Radar Performance Data
Integration and test of large systems
Involved with the analysis, design, development and implementation of new and/or existing systems/subsystems. May include Architectural Design, Requirements Engineering, or others. Determine system specifications. Support acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed).
Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
Responsible for driving technology and completion of activity on time and budget
Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
Ability to complete a technical project independently
Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements
Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
May mentor and coach the work of others as assigned
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
