Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Quality Engineer II to strengthen product integrity across design, manufacturing and supply chain. You will own audits, corrective actions, and QMS control while collaborating with engineering leadership to prevent issues and enable timely program delivery.

The role emphasizes data-driven quality improvements using Power BI and Excel, with hybrid work in a defense-focused organization supporting critical programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Manufacturing Systems, Quality Engineering, or related discipline.
• Five+ years of quality assurance or quality engineering in manufacturing or regulated environments.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001; familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and calibration practices.
• Demonstrated internal-audit experience including planning, evidence collection, findings classification, reporting, and audit closure.
• Hands-on experience with corrective action and root-cause methods (5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D) and quality-management systems like TIPQA.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal quality audits and certification support for AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO/IEC 17025; develop audit reports and communicate trends.
• Support nonconformance and corrective-action lifecycle including root-cause investigation and disposition.
• Lead structured root-cause investigations using 5 Whys, Fishbone and 8D; drive cross-functional resolution.
• Administer GIDEP activities end to end from alert receipt to closure.
• Conduct calibration out of tolerance investigations and documented disposition.
• Maintain disciplined QMS document control and configuration integrity.
• Turn quality data into action with Power BI and Excel analyses.
