Job summary

Accurate Energetic Systems in McEwen, TN seeks a hands-on Quality Engineer to lead quality engineering activities for energetic products. You will apply MIL/contract requirements, perform root-cause investigations, and drive improvements across incoming through final inspection, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.

You will mentor inspectors, coordinate with production, and support audits with customers and government reps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field; 5+ years quality engineering in defense/aerospace or munitions manufacturing.
• Experience reading/drawing standards and customer technical data packages.
• Industrial NDT methods (e.g. X-Radiography) training/certifications preferred.
• Strong math and computer skills; knowledge of lean manufacturing and program management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with customers, suppliers, and government reps.

Responsibilities

• Interpret contract, drawings and specifications into inspection plans and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and maintain inspection and test plans for incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
• Lead CAPA system, including 8D/5-Why/fishbone/FMEA; verify effectiveness.
• Lead MRB and nonconforming material processes; disposition and notification.
• Plan First Article Inspections and lot acceptance testing; prepare documentation and certifications.
• Apply SPC and measurement system analysis to monitor processes and reduce defects.
• Support audits to ISO 9001/AS9100; collaborate with DCMA and customers.
• Prepare quality data reports for management review; support production deadlines with quality.
