Job summary

Cisco is seeking a Quality Engineer for the Solution Engineering Quality team in a hybrid RTP, North Carolina role. You will design and maintain automated tests for cloud-native architectures, evaluate risks, and collaborate with security and development teams to ensure system stability.

The position emphasizes building scalable test suites, improving performance validation, and driving CI/CD integration within an Agile environment. On-site presence is required 3 days/week in RTP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 6+ years of professional experience in software quality engineering, system testing, or test automation.
• Experience with Python or Go (Golang) for programming and automation scripting.
• Experience testing cloud-native architectures using Docker, Kubernetes, and public cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
• Experience with core networking protocols and VPN technologies (TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, DTLS, IPsec, or IKEv2).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks for multi-service cloud-native architectures.
• Evaluate architectural risks across functionality, performance, and scalability to prevent production regressions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional security and development teams to identify vulnerabilities and root causes.
• Drive continuous test innovation by benchmarking new technologies and automation tools to improve platform reliability.
