Cisco Systems, Inc. in RTP, North Carolina is seeking a Quality Engineer for a hybrid role requiring on-site presence three days a week.

You will design and maintain automated tests for cloud-native architectures within the Solution Engineering Quality team, ensuring reliability across SSE, SASE, SD-WAN platforms. You will collaborate with security, development, and product teams to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and drive CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, software engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 6+ years in software quality engineering, system testing, or test automation.
• Experience with Python or Go scripting.
• Experience testing cloud-native architectures with Docker, Kubernetes, and public cloud (AWS/GCP).
• Familiarity with core networking and VPN tech (TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, IPsec, IKEv2).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks for cloud-native architectures.
• Evaluate architectural risks across function, performance, and scalability to prevent regressions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional security teams to identify vulnerabilities and root causes.
• Drive test innovation by benchmarking new technologies and tools to improve reliability.
