Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks a Program Senior Quality Engineer to ensure Quality and Mission Assurance across design and development. You will interface with Engineering and program leadership to drive best practices and risk mitigation from the start of a new AMRAAM development block.

Responsibilities include blending managerial expertise with technical knowledge, providing Quality guidance, and supporting program objectives to deliver a mature product with strong supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent with 5+ years relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Engineering experience in the defense and/or aerospace industry.
• Experience with reviewing and implementing technical changes.
• Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
• Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
• Ability to obtain a Final Secret US Government issued security clearance is required prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Support the AMRAAM Development Program, ensuring alignment with Q&MA policies, contractual requirements, and product performance requirements.
• Partner with Program Management to identify risks, implement mitigation plans, and ensure quality supports cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
• Implement APQP/AS9145 to establish Product Maturity and processes.
• Review Engineering work products to identify and eliminate defects.
• Participate in technical peer reviews of design releases, change incorporation, prototype development, and test plans.
• Evaluate technical requirements and manufacturing trade-offs to assess risks or opportunities and collaborate on mitigations.
• Lead root cause initiatives and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Support new pursuits through proposal development.
