Job summary

Alpaca, a US-headquartered leader in brokerage infrastructure, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Platform team. You will own frameworks, tooling, and CI/CD infrastructure, writing Go, building automated test frameworks, and shaping AI-driven testing practices to improve quality across services.

You will design load tests, introduce chaos engineering, and mentor engineers while working with Kubernetes and Helm to ensure scalable, secure deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer building and maintaining production systems.
• 1+ year of experience with Go.
• Fluent with AI-assisted engineering using LLM-based tools.
• Built and maintained CI pipelines - ideally with GitHub Actions or Google Cloud Build.
• Designed and built automated test frameworks for microservices and reliability challenges.
• Familiar with Kubernetes beyond basics; can write a Helm chart and follows security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automated test frameworks across REST and gRPC surfaces.
• Leverage AI/LLM tooling to accelerate test generation and regression coverage.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Google Cloud Build).
• Design and execute load, stress, and scalability tests for growth.
• Introduce chaos engineering practices to surface failure modes early.
• Standardize tooling and infrastructure to improve developer experience.
• Collaborate with teams to raise test coverage, reliability, and speed.
• Root-cause failures in code and drive fixes to completion.
• Mentor product engineers and promote a culture of quality.
