Pratt & Whitney Asheville is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support the shop floor quality program. The role emphasizes adherence to QMS, root-cause analysis, and process improvements across manufacturing steps.

The ideal candidate will review procedures, lead PFMEA discussions, and coordinate corrective actions while collaborating with other engineers and sister plants to ensure high-quality aerospace components.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required due to government contracts.
• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in an engineering role; or a master’s degree and 5+ years.
• Understanding of metrology and ability to use measuring tools (e.g., calipers, dial indicators).
• Ability to learn new measuring techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Ability to work independently or within a team with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented and dedicated to accuracy; able to read and follow drawings.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to duties of a Quality Engineer II and III and operate with limited supervision.
• Review procedures, specifications, and equipment to ensure QMS compliance.
• Identify non-conformances, implement mistake-proofing, and monitor process fallout rates.
• Provide data on materials and corrective actions to evaluate effectiveness.
• Lead PFMEA and control plan reviews and contribute to continuous improvements.
• Disseminate root-cause analysis results and coordinate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with sister plants and other engineers as needed.
