Job summary

RTX, including Pratt & Whitney Asheville, is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support the shop floor with quality oversight and process improvements.

The role requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering with 5–7+ years of experience, proficiency in metrology tools, and a strong ability to read drawings and interpret specifications. Candidates must be US citizens due to government contracts.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required due to government contracts.
• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in an engineering role; OR a master’s degree and 5+ years in an engineering role.
• Understanding of metrology and ability to use measuring tools (e.g., calipers, dial indicators, linear scales).
• Ability to learn new measuring techniques.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to read and follow directions, operational standards, and interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support the shop floor as a Quality Engineer on the team.
• Review procedures, specifications, work instructions, and equipment for QMS compliance.
• Lead PFMEA and control plan reviews and MSAs; drive corrective actions.
• Investigate quality issues to identify root cause and implement fixes.
• Communicate with Manufacturing Engineers and Business Units on quality metrics.
