Job description

Location: US-NC-ASHEVILLE-330 Pratt Whitney Blvd – Pratt Whitney Advanced Casting Foundry (ACF) – Asheville, NC

What You Will Do

• Drive a culture of compliance through strong collaboration with Operations and Manufacturing teams.
• Lead the build‑out and proficiency development of the Quality team, overseeing direct and indirect reporting lines in Quality Engineering, Inspection, NDT, Gage Calibration, Metrology, MCL, MRB, Audit & Quality Clinic.
• Secure necessary resources (equipment, manpower, etc.) to meet long‑range and near‑term goals.
• Identify and implement required QMS improvements to support this new internal product line.
• Handle day‑to‑day operational decision making and allocate resources to meet customer demand.
• Lead process improvement initiatives using DMAIC, CORE, and Lean strategies to enhance quality, decrease cycle time, and reduce costs.
• Provide technical expertise on non‑conforming material and support the communication and processing of quality notifications through the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
• Collaborate with operations and materials teams to align on customer demand.
• Define and implement plans to support business objectives, including Quality, CORE, and financial metrics.
• Communicate effectively to ensure alignment within the Quality and ACF organizations.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality systems.
• Proficiency in Quality tools such as FAI, PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T.
• Experience with Pratt & Whitney Quality system.
• Experience in root‑cause corrective action and elimination of non‑conformances.
• Practical DMAIC, CORE, Six Sigma, or other Lean Systems experience.
