Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Asheville is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support the shop floor and uphold the Quality Management System. The role involves leading investigations, PFMEA reviews, and corrective actions to reduce escapes and ensure product quality across manufacturing stages.

You will mentor engineers, review procedures, and collaborate with teams to implement robust process improvements while ensuring safety and compliance with AS9100 standards where applicable.

Qualifications

• Understanding of metrology and ability to use measuring tools (e.g., calipers, dial indicators, linear scales)
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Ability to read and follow directions, operational standards, and interpret drawings
• Ability to work independently or within a team with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime

Responsibilities

• Adhering to all duties and responsibilities of a Quality Engineer II and III
• Relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals
• Orienting, training, assigning, and reviewing the work of lower‑level employees
• Reducing customer escapes by identifying non‑conformance drivers, implementing mistake‑proofing solutions
• Providing data on material with corrective actions to evaluate their effectiveness
• Disposing product based on business needs to the lowest achievable level
• Leading, conducting, and analyzing results for MSA/GRR
• Inspecting and guiding operations and inspectors on the appropriate course of action throughout manufacturing
• Investigating quality issues to identify root cause and ensuring resolution
• Developing and implementing process improvements
• Complying with health, safety, and environmental programs
