Job summary

Palomar Products is seeking a Quality Engineer III to oversee quality assurance activities in support of aerospace programs. This role interfaces with program management, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

You will lead cross-functional teams, apply lean practices, and maintain expertise in counterfeit component mitigation.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Quality Management Systems and industry workmanship standards.
• Advanced knowledge of AS9100, AS9101, AS9102, DO-178 and DO-254.
• Ability to interpret contractual and specification requirements.
• In-depth understanding of technical documentation.
• Advanced computer skills including statistical/data analysis and report writing.
• Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel up to 25%.
• Experience with inspection tools and methods (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase customer satisfaction and reduce returns.
• Conduct root cause and corrective action investigations for customer issues.
• Manage corrective and preventive action programs to reduce scrap and rework.
• Lead quality engineering reviews of new product designs for compliance.
• Coordinate source inspection with customers and government representatives.
• Prepare and present technical and program information to teams and management.
