Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Quality Control Inspector to oversee ITP implementation, review materials to ASTM requirements, and coordinate inspections with on-site teams and outside agencies. You will ensure documentation, NCRs, and conformance to contract plans and codes.

The role requires 5+ years in construction, strong ability to read drawings, and VT II or CWI certification. Expect field work, safety focus, and potential weekend hours in a dynamic project

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience in the construction field.
• Able to navigate Code books and technical manuals.
• Proficient at understanding construction drawings.
• Familiarity with various structural bolting methods (turn of the nut, direct tension indicators, impact wrenches, etc.).
• Visual Testing (VT)-VT Level II or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
• Ability to use weld inspection tools and coatings inspection tools.
• Ability to verify materials using MTRs.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in various environments.

Responsibilities

• Generate documentation to provide assurance of compliance to contract requirements, ITP’s and QA Manual.
• Ensure all Quality Control records are maintained in an orderly, up-to-date and secure manner.
• Ensure SOPs for Quality Control are followed for field work and documented when required.
• Ensure materials, workmanship and construction are in full compliance with contract plans, specifications, and codes.
• Generate Non Conformance Reports (NCR) for non-compliant conditions.
• Approve receipt of materials per ASTM requirements.
• Accept or reject welds based on written criteria.
• Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
• Coach Craft in quality program processes.
