Job summary

InSight Manufacturing Services in Murphys, CA, is seeking a Senior Quality Control Inspector to join our precision-focused team. You will inspect materials, parts, and assemblies to ensure they meet drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

You will read blueprints, operate CMM and PC-DMIS, document results, and support corrective actions within the QMS. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and with a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Experience operating precision inspection equipment and CMM.
• Proficient in PC-DMIS for measuring programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, First Article, and final inspections.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and tolerances.
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, comparators, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Set up parts and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Use PC-DMIS to run established CMM programs and modify as needed.
• Accurately document inspection and test results.
• Identify and document nonconforming products or materials.
• Assist with corrective actions and quality investigations.
• Verify inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
• Support QMS and internal audit processes.
• Communicate quality concerns to management.

InSight Manufacturing Services is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quality Control Inspector to join our team! If you have a strong background in manufacturing inspection, enjoy working with precision measurement equipment, and take pride in producing quality work, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Quality Control Inspector, you'll help ensure our raw materials, machined parts, fabricated components, and finished assemblies meet drawing, customer, and quality requirements.

• Perform receiving, in-process, First Article, and final inspections
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, comparators, and other precision measuring equipment
• Set up parts and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
• Use PC-DMIS to run established CMM programs and create, modify, or reprogram CMM programs as needed for new or existing parts.
• Accurately document inspection and test results
• Identify and document nonconforming products or materials
• Assist with corrective actions and quality investigations
• Verify inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained
• Support our Quality Management System (QMS) and internal audit processes
• Communicate quality concerns and recurring issues to management

What We're Looking For

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and tolerances
• Experience using precision inspection and measuring equipment
• CMM and PC-DMIS experience
• Strong math and measurement skills
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

Training or certification in the following areas is a plus:

• GD&T
• CMM and/or PC-DMIS
• First Article Inspection (FAI/AS9102)
• Calibration or measurement systems

Pay: $25.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience
