Job Description: Expert Quality Assurance Engineer

As a seasoned Quality Assurance Engineer specializing in automation and cutting-edge software testing methodologies, you play a pivotal role in upholding the highest quality standards within your team. By leveraging advanced tooling and coding techniques, you seamlessly integrate automation testing into every team member's daily workflow. Through close collaboration with cross-functional teams, you drive the implementation of new features and enhancements, ultimately improving the experience for over 12 million customers.

The profile demands knowledge in test automation for both front-end and back-end skills, where one will be acting upon defining the most suitable test strategy across both categories of applications. A stronger understanding of back-end architectures (REST API validations, mocking mechanisms, event-driven architectures in a micro-service ecosystem, and asynchronous processing) is generally desired.

What you will do

As our Expert Quality Assurance Engineer, you embrace the following responsibilities:

1. Take ownership and responsibility for the design and development of all aspects of testing.
2. Work on acceptance criteria and test scenarios with the Product Owner and development team.
3. Design, execute, and maintain test scenarios and automation capabilities for all test levels and types (e.g., automated, regression, exploratory, etc.).
4. Create and optimise test frameworks and integrate them into deployment pipelines.
5. Participate in the code review process for both production and test code to ensure all critical cases are covered.
6. Monitor test runs, application errors, and performance.
7. Facilitate information flow, keep the team informed, and be a stakeholder in releases and defect tracking.
8. Share best testing and quality practices and processes.
9. Promote and coach the team towards a quality-focused mindset.
10. Influence and lead the team towards continuous improvement and best testing practices.
11. Serve as the reference for the QA Center of Practice, promoting their practices and influencing their strategy, integrating your team’s experience into their plan.

What you need for this

As a Senior/Expert Quality Assurance Engineer, you should possess:

• Knowledge of software testing theory.
• Experience developing test automation frameworks from scratch and maintaining existing frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience in software testing, including manual and automated testing.
• Strong experience with various testing practices (unit, load, endurance, cross-platform), especially within CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working with CI/CD tools and monitoring platforms (e.g., Jenkins, Kibana, Grafana).
• Knowledge of Bitbucket, Kubernetes (K8s), Docker.
• Proficiency in Java, with experience in test frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, and reporting tools such as Allure.
• Knowledge of API testing, contract testing, non-functional testing, REST protocols, and microservice architecture.
• Experience with tools such as TestRail, Gatling, Rest Assured, Pact is advantageous.
• Knowledge of SQL and Object-Relational Mapping tools like Hibernate.
• Ability to work in an agile Scrum environment.
• Self-responsibility and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills in English.

Nice to have:

• Experience writing clean code in Java, Python, Kotlin, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience with BDD and app test automation tools.
