Optomi, in partnership with a leading industrial IoT solutions company, is seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer to join their technology team on a 90-day contract.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in automated testing, unit test development, and QA strategy implementation, especially in a .NET/C# and Angular environment.

Location: Remote working EST (Candidates from EST or CST Time Zones Preferred)

Type: 90-Day Contract (Potential for Extension)

About the Role:

You’ll be working alongside a tight-knit development team, reporting to the IT Director who is also a hands-on developer. Your focus will be building and scaling QA automation and supporting existing unit testing efforts, while collaborating with an India-based QA analyst.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated end-to-end tests using Cypress (preferred), Playwright, or Selenium
• Write and maintain unit tests for C# (.NET) using xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest
• Create test coverage for Angular applications using Jasmine/Karma
• Integrate and monitor test suites within CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
• Build and maintain mocks/test environments, particularly for web APIs
• Collaborate closely with developers and QA to ensure coverage, quality, and testability
• Drive QA best practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and risk assessments

Must-Have:

• Automation Testing: Cypress (preferred), Playwright, or Selenium
• Unit Testing: C#/.NET using xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest
• Frontend Testing: Angular + Jasmine/Karma
• Strong grasp of testing strategies and SDLC processes

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience mocking APIs and simulating environments
• Familiarity with TypeScript and frontend/backend integration testing

Team & Structure:

• Team: 3 Developers + 1 QA (India-based)
• This role will focus on automation, unit testing, and QA strategy
• Reports to: IT Director (also a contributing developer)

Ideal Candidate:

• Mid to Senior Level (6–9 years of experience)
• Comfortable working independently on test strategy, automation, and pipelines
• Strong communicator who can collaborate across time zones
• Duration: 90 Days (Potential for Extension)
• Hours: 40/week, must be OK working EST working hours
