Job summary

Moog, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to lead quality engineering from proposal through final product delivery. The role focuses on AS9100 compliance, supplier management, and process improvements on first shift, onsite in Gilbert/ Phoenix area.

Reporting to the QA Control Manager, you will support design/test phases, MRB/FRB processes, and manufacturing process control, with a strong emphasis on aerospace quality standards and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within an electronics lab environment.
  • Aerospace/Defense contracting experience required; J-STD and/or NASA training/experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement proactive quality methodologies to identify quality issues.
  • Analyze process problems and create solutions using engineering guidelines and standards.
  • Monitor quality performance data and drive RCCA actions.
  • Prepare End Item Data Package (EIDP) reports; collect, analyze, and summarize data.
  • Own customer pre-shipment reviews for seamless shipments.

Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Reporting To: Manager, QA Control

Work Schedule: Onsite - Phoenix, AZ

Our Space team in Gilbert, AZ is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join their dynamic team. The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for quality engineering related functions from proposal stage to final delivery of the product, addressing contract requirements, managing suppliers, supporting design/test phases, managing/supporting MRB’s and FRB’s, and process development/improvement. You will report directly to the Quality Manager and enjoy an on‑site, collaborative working environment on first shift.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement proactive quality methodologies to effectively and efficiently identify quality issues
  • Analyze process problems situations by reviewing facts and creating solutions using operational and engineering guidelines, procedures, regulations, industry standards, and past successes
  • Monitor quality performance data used to track progress to goals and to guide root cause corrective action (RCCA)
  • Prepare End Item Data Package (EIDP) reports, by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Own customer pre‑ship review's enabling a seamless shipment of product
  • Perform continuous improvements, developing and documenting new processes to support AS9100 Quality System and manage external audits
  • Manage / Support FRB’s (Failure Review Board), MRB’s (Material Review Board) to address non-conformance, manage customer queries, generate non-conformances documentation, analyze non-conforming data, and determine corrective actions
  • Provide operational/manufacturing support and monitor assembly process control
  • Support supplier management, including supplier assessments
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar technical or engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, within an electronics lab environment
  • Aerospace/Defense Contracting industry experience is required
  • J-STD and/or NASA training/experience is required; Certifications strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System.
  • Strong knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principals (e.g. Six Sigma, Green Belt, Black Belt).
  • Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and instructions.
  • In-depth knowledge of all the protocols for handling electronic hardware and test equipment such as ESD and FOD
  • Prior working knowledge of TIPQA or similar tool to manage non-conformances, suppliers, and quality clauses.

Salary Range Transparency

Phoenix, AZ $85,000.00-$140,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
