Senior Quality Assurance Automation Tester

Location: Remote

Type: Long-Term Contract (11-Month Contract to Start)

Our client, a global company specializing in technology-enabled claims and risk management solutions, is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Tester to join their team for a remote, contract opportunity. In this position, you will work alongside industry leaders and contribute to simplifying complexities in workers compensation, liability, property, disability, and absence management.

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in testing .NET applications, advanced SQL scripting skills, and excellent communication abilities. Prior experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance sector is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of leading QA efforts across the full software development lifecycle, including planning, execution, validation, and documentation, in both manual and automated environments.

Key Qualifications

  • 8+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years in QA/testing roles and 2+ years focused on business application testing.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience testing .NET applications.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Oracle, including writing complex queries from scratch.
  • Expertise in both manual and automated testing.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX environments.
  • Experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry (preferred).
  • Familiarity with claims management systems and client/server applications.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills; proven presentation experience.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience with Smartsheet, TFS, Visual Studio, Test Manager, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in performance/load testing using Visual Studio tools.
  • Ability to lead meetings, track defects, and oversee documentation processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead QA initiatives and mentor team members.
  • Review business requirements and collaborate with developers to define test strategies.
  • Design, develop, and execute functional, regression, performance, and load test plans.
  • Build and maintain manual and automated test scripts.
  • Validate, track defects, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Audit testing results for quality and compliance.
  • Maintain QA documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Participate in system scope definition and validation for complex implementations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and carrier-specific requirements.
  • Stay updated on emerging QA tools and industry best practices.
  • Support the professional development of junior QA team members.
