Job summary

Redwood Materials seeks a Construction QA/QC Manager to lead the internal EPC QA/QC function for battery recycling and materials facilities. You will oversee inspectors, coordinate third‑party inspections, and develop ITPs across design through turnover, ensuring conformance with design drawings and specifications.

The role interfaces with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams; requires reading drawings, code knowledge, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related technical discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in construction quality control/assurance, inspection, or related field; leadership of QA/QC personnel.
• Current CWI certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Working knowledge of ASME B31.3 and AWS D1.1 codes.
• Ability to read/interpret civil, structural, mechanical, and piping drawings; develop ITPs.
• Valid driver’s license; strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience building/scaling QA/QC programs across multiple projects; documentation-focused.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the project QA/QC function, including direct oversight of internal inspectors, QC coordinators, and third‑party inspection personnel; set priorities, review performance, and provide day‑to‑day technical direction
• Review engineering drawings and specifications during the design phase to identify constructability concerns, inspection hold points, and quality requirements; provide proactive QA/QC feedback
• Develop project‑specific Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and coordinate third‑party inspections to ensure resources ahead of construction
• Contract and manage relationships with third‑party inspection agencies; ensure scopes and schedules align with project needs
• Perform daily site walks to identify risks, discrepancies, and non‑conformances; document findings
• Perform system verifications on completed systems; assist with QA/QC protocols and documentation
• Audit turnover documentation (MTRs, weld logs, PWHT, NDT, concrete records, bolt tensioning, etc.)
• Track quality metrics and non‑conformance trends; support resolution of day‑to‑day quality issues
