Job summary

HII, within Mission Technologies, seeks an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead the QA organization for Unmanned Systems (UxS) at our Pocasset, MA facility. You will drive quality-by-design, establish rigorous gates, and build analytics that turn data into actionable improvements across Engineering, Programs, and Supply Chain.

The role demands deep ISO 9001 knowledge, strong leadership, and a track record of forming cross-functional teams to prevent defects and ensure mission-critical

Qualifications

• 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelor’s in related field.
• 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field.
• 12 years relevant progressive experience with High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 requirements or comparable standards.
• Experience leading quality teams in production/engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA strategy for Unmanned Systems, designing quality into products from requirements through LRIP and sustainment.
• Manage QA lifecycle gates including FMEA initiation, CTQ development, DFMEA/PFMEA progression, MSA, PPIP, and Production Readiness Reviews.
• Drive adoption of Quality Plans, Control Plans, and early-phase manufacturability reviews.
• Oversee NCR, RCCA, and CAPA performance with timely closure and effective corrective actions.
• Build a data ecosystem turning QC/production data into actionable insights for Engineering, Programs, and Supply Chain.
• Establish QA metrics to measure design maturity, process capability, risk burndown, and quality performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering to embed traceability, verification/validation readiness, and risk-based QA gates.
• Partner with Supplier Quality to ensure CTQ requirements and risk-based incoming quality planning.
