Job summary

Extreme Networks is seeking a Senior Manager of QA Engineering for our Cloud Networking platform. You will lead a growing quality organization ensuring reliability, security, and scalability across SaaS offerings like Extreme Platform ONE and ExtremeCloud IQ.

In this hybrid US-based role, you will partner with Development, Product and DevOps, drive test strategy, build automation, and establish metrics to deliver high-quality releases while mentoring a global team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software quality engineering.
• 4+ years in a QA leadership/people management role.
• Proven experience testing cloud-based/SaaS platforms; networking domain experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience building and scaling test automation frameworks and API testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA engineers and SDETs across manual, automation, performance, and security testing disciplines.
• Define and drive the End to End Integration and System quality strategy, test methodology, and release quality gates for the Cloud Networking product portfolio.
• Own end-to-end test planning and execution for cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS applications, including functional, regression, scalability, resiliency, and upgrade testing.
• Champion a shift-left quality culture by leveraging AI, embedding automated testing, CI/CD quality gates, and observability into the development lifecycle.
• Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to assess release readiness, manage risk, and make data-driven go/no-go decisions.
• Build and scale test automation frameworks for APIs, microservices, UI, and network device/cloud integration testing.
• Establish and track quality metrics (defect escape rate, test coverage, MTTR, automation ROI) and report on quality health to senior leadership.
• Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement processes for escaped defects and customer-impacting issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams, including outsourced/offshore QA partners, to ensure consistent quality practices.
• Manage QA budget, tooling investments, and vendor relationships.
• Stay current with industry best practices in cloud networking, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, and network access control.
