Job summary

MIB is seeking a hands-on Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to lead quality engineering activities within an Agile product team. This role owns the team's test strategy and risk-based validation approach, builds and maintains automated test coverage, and partners with engineering, product, architecture, security, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable software and services to MIB Members.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of software quality engineering or testing experience with ownership of test activities for complex applications or services.
• Hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum or Kanban teams using Jira and Confluence, with practical knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Proficiency testing APIs and distributed services (REST/JSON/XML) and contract validation.
• Hands-on automation with Playwright, Karate, Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit, or Postman.
• Experience with Java or other OO languages, Git, and IDEs like IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse.
• Ability to write/validate SQL queries and analyze data across apps and databases.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (qTest, TestRail, Jira, etc.).
• Knowledge of logs/telemetry to troubleshoot failures in test/prod-like environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an Agile, risk-based test strategy with plans, cases, coverage matrices, and exit criteria.
• Participate in Scrum/Kanban events and raise quality risks early.
• Design, implement, execute, and maintain automated tests (API, UI, integration, regression).
• Integrate AI and automated checks into CI/CD pipelines and support release readiness decisions.
• Define test-data requirements and manage secure, repeatable test-data creation and masking.
• Validate RESTful services, microservices, data transformations, and DB behavior.
• Perform exploratory, functional, integration, end-to-end, and production-verification testing.
• Contribute to nonfunctional testing—performance, resiliency, security, accessibility, and compliance.
