Job summary

Sound Decisions is seeking a QA Engineer to lead quality assurance across our software products. You will own test strategy, strengthen processes, and partner with engineering, product, implementation, support, and customers to raise quality standards.

You will design test plans, drive shift-left testing, identify defects with detailed reproduction steps, and expand automation within CI/CD pipelines. A strong FinTech/e-commerce background is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software QA experience, API and non-API environments.
• Experience leading or coordinating QA efforts with balance of hands-on testing and process improvement.
• Strong FinTech and e-commerce domain knowledge.
• Proficient in test planning, exploratory, regression testing, and defect management.
• Analytical problem-solver with attention to detail and multi-perspective analysis.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the overall QA strategy across products.
• Design and execute test plans for new products, enhancements, and existing functionality.
• Lead a shift-left QA mindset by participating early in planning and requirements discussions.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with actionable details for reproduction.
• Retest resolved defects and verify fixes with developers.
• Build robust coverage for happy path, edge cases, and non-happy-path scenarios.
• Drive adoption of test automation and integrate tests into CI/CD workflows.
• Monitor and report on quality metrics, trends, risks, and release readiness.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, implementation, support, and customers to reflect real-world usage in test plans.
