Job summary

Sound Decisions is seeking a QA Engineer to lead quality assurance across our software products and help ensure reliable, high-quality experiences for customers. You will own test strategy, strengthen testing processes, and partner with engineering, product, implementation, support, and customers to raise the quality bar.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software QA experience, API and non-API environments, and proven leadership coordinating QA efforts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software QA experience in API-driven and non-API environments.
• Experience leading or coordinating QA efforts with hands-on testing and process improvement.
• Strong FinTech and e-commerce domain knowledge.
• Excellent test planning, exploratory, regression, and defect management skills.
• Ability to communicate issues and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the overall QA strategy, including manual, regression, exploratory, and automated testing.
• Design and execute test plans for new products and enhancements to validate quality.
• Lead shift-left QA by participating early in planning and requirements discussions.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with detail to reproduce, isolate, and resolve issues quickly.
• Retest resolved defects and verify fixes address root causes and edge cases.
• Build coverage across happy path, non-happy path, and true edge cases.
• Drive adoption of test automation and integrate tests into delivery workflows and CI/CD.
• Provide recommendations to improve regression coverage, tooling, and quality processes.
• Monitor and report on issue trends, testing progress, quality risks, and resolution metrics.
