Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to own test strategy and automation for web apps and APIs. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites, integrate them into CI/CD, and validate functionality, data, and performance across the stack.

You will partner with developers, analysts, and product owners in an Agile team, mentor peers, and advance risk-based, metric-driven testing while contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance engineering or software testing.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks, not solely executing tests.
• Automation with Java and Selenium WebDriver, plus Playwright with TypeScript.
• Experience with Cucumber, TestNG, and Maven.
• Extensive use of Jira, Zephyr Scale, Confluence, GitHub, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, SQL, Oracle, and Web Services & APIs.
• Performance testing of UIs and APIs with JMeter, POSTMAN, Swagger, Rest Assured, Gatling.
• Proficiency in Agile, DevOps, BDD, and TDD methodologies.
• Risk-based testing and metrics-driven QA approaches.
• Data analysis and systems integration testing experience.
• Strong SDLC and CI/CD understanding.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication; collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites for web apps and APIs using Java/Selenium and Playwright/TypeScript.
• Builds and maintains BDD test frameworks (Cucumber, TestNG, Maven) from acceptance criteria.
• Owns full testing lifecycle for features: planning, design, execution, defect mgmt, regression.
• Documents test strategy, coverage, and results in Jira, Zephyr Scale, and Confluence.
• Integrates automated tests into CI/CD via GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Performs API and web services testing with Postman, Swagger, and Rest Assured.
• Conducts performance testing with JMeter and Gatling; analyzes bottlenecks with devs.
• Writes SQL queries against Oracle to validate data integrity.
• Tracks quality metrics and drives continuous improvement in testing.
• Participates in Agile ceremonies and supports TDD/BDD practices.
• Mentors junior QA engineers and promotes automation standards.
