Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a mid-level QA Engineer for a 12-month hybrid contract based in St. Louis, MO, Charlotte, NC, or Denver, CO.

You will design, document, and execute formal test plans to ensure high-quality applications, performing both manual and automated testing across web, API, and enterprise systems. You will collaborate with business and technology teams to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software testing or QA
• Experience in Agile environments
• Experience creating and maintaining test plans and test cases
• Experience with API testing and automation

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans and test cases for enterprise apps
• Design and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts
• Perform manual and automated testing across web, API, DB, and enterprise apps
• Execute API tests using Rest Assured, Karate, and SOAPUI
• Create automated test scripts in Java, Python, or JavaScript
• Run SQL Server queries and validate data in relational databases
• Collaborate with teams to ensure quality and timely releases
• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes and coverage
• Document defects with clear repro steps and diagnostics
• Participate in defect triage and testing status reporting
