Tempus AI, a cutting-edge clinical laboratory with automation, is hiring a Senior QA Engineer to join one or more Agile Scrum teams. You will design and maintain UI, API, and data-validation test frameworks in Java and Python, integrating them into CI/CD to run automatically against every build.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software QA, including 5+ years writing test automation.
• Strong programming ability in at least one language used for automation, Java and/or Python preferred.
• Hands-on UI automation with Playwright or Selenium.
• API testing with REST Assured, Postman or similar, including schema, contract and authentication checks.
• Experience running tests in CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar).
• Solid SQL (e.g., MySQL) and careful approach to test data in regulated environments.
• Experience with performance/load testing tools (JMeter, k6, Gatling).
• Knowledge of HIPAA, HL7 and FHIR; Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; ISTQB/ASTQB nice-to-have.
• Experience with AWS/Azure, Docker; regulated environments CLIA/CAP/FDA/SOX is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and represent quality from story start to delivery.
• Build and maintain automated tests for web UI, REST APIs and databases; align test code with production standards.
• Own regression suites, expand coverage, fix flaky tests, ensure CI/CD runs nightly and after deployments.
• Test for HIPAA and SOX compliance, including PHI handling and access controls; trace tests to requirements.
• Analyze results, triage failures, identify root causes, and report reproducible bugs.
• Validate night-time deployments and post-deployment health across environments.
• Provide go/no-go quality recommendations and support risk assessments and release readiness.
• Mentor junior QA engineers through pairing and code reviews.
