Job summary

Tempus is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join Agile Scrum teams, embedding with one or more teams to validate and improve our in-house software. You will design and maintain UI, API, and data-validation test frameworks in Java and Python, wiring them into CI/CD to run unattended against every build.

You will gain experience with modern test tooling, cloud-native delivery, and AI-assisted testing, while mentoring junior QA engineers and ensuring HIPAA/SOX compliance and traceability from

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software QA; 5+ years writing test automation.
• Strong programming ability in Java and/or Python; hands-on UI automation with Playwright or Selenium.
• API testing with REST Assured, Postman or similar; schema, contract and authentication checks.
• Experience running tests in CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI); reporting with Allure.
• Solid SQL and careful test data handling for regulated environments.
• Experience with performance/load testing (JMeter, k6, Gatling).
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, HL7 and FHIR.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and ensure quality from story start.
• Build and maintain automated tests for UI, REST APIs, and databases.
• Own regression suites and keep them green in CI/CD; fix flaky tests.
• Test HIPAA and SOX compliance; ensure PHI handling and logs traceability.
• Analyze results, triage failures, identify root cause and document bugs.
• Validate night-time/off-hours deployments and post-deploy health.
