Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test II for a 12-month contract in San Mateo, CA. The role focuses on building automated testing, QA strategies and CI/CD systems for PlayStation mobile app features.

The candidate will plan QA activities, develop test plans, and maintain automation frameworks while collaborating with developers and product owners to ensure comprehensive test coverage and high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience building and executing test plans and test cases.
• Experience writing automated tests in Python/JavaScript or similar.
• Understanding of pytest or similar frameworks.
• CI pipelines with Jenkins preferred; CI background required.
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, Appium and test management tools.
• Agile methodology experience; strong collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements and design docs to craft testing strategies.
• Plan QA activities, build test plans and test cases for UI features.
• Build and improve test automation frameworks and CI infrastructure.
• Define standards for automation, CI/CD, and end-to-end testing.
• Maintain PS5 testing devices and test coverage for features.
• Drive quality improvements and promote best practices within the team.
• Manage Jenkins jobs and report statuses.
• Work with Developers and Product Owners to ensure automated coverage.
• Assist with production deployment support and post-release tasks.
• Report, track and verify defects.
